YOUR FIRST DENTAL VISIT?

During your thorough dental checkup appointment, our dentists will evaluate the health of your gums, perform a head and neck examination (to look for anything out of the ordinary) and examine your mouth for any indications of gum disease, oral cancer, diabetes or vitamin deficiencies. Don’t be surprised if the dentist examines your face, bite, saliva and movement of your lower jaw joints (TMJs). Our dentists will then clean your teeth and stress the importance of you maintaining good oral hygiene at home between visits. They will also show you how to brush and floss properly during your check-up.

While cleaning your teeth, the Dentist will pay special attention to the amount of plaque and tartar as plaque and tartar can build up in a very short time in the absence of good oral hygiene between visits. If not removed, soft plaque can harden on the teeth and irritate the gum tissue. If not treated, plaque can lead to gum disease.

YOUR REGULAR DENTAL CHECKUP INCLUDES:                                             

-Thorough Check-up (including your neck, jaw and mouth)

-Radiographs (X-rays) if required to check the area in between the teeth.

-Scale and Clean (removing tarter/plaque build-up and polish your teeth)

-If required/requested fluoride treatment and brushing and flossing instructions.

-If requested advise and guidance in relation to teeth whitening.
