What is CEREC CADCAM?

What is CEREC CADCAM Technology?

Same Day Crowns Brisbane

CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) CAD/CAM (Computer-Aided Design and Computer-Aided Manufacturing) is a technology used in dentistry that allows for the creation of custom dental restorations, such as crowns, bridges, and veneers, in a single appointment. The technology includes a digital impression system that captures a 3D image of the tooth, a computer program that designs the restoration, and a milling machine that fabricates the restoration from a block of ceramic material. This allows for faster and more efficient treatment for patients compared to traditional methods.

We offer our patients same day crowns. This is typically done using computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) technology, such as CEREC. This technology allows dentists to create a digital impression of the tooth, design the crown using specialized software, and then mill the crown from a block of dental-grade ceramic. The process is faster and more efficient than traditional methods of creating and placing crowns.

Same-day crowns can be used for a variety of dental restorations, such as to repair a broken or decayed tooth, to replace a filling that has become too large, or to support a dental bridge. They are also an option for patients who have difficulty with traditional impressions or have a strong gag reflex.
